Valves - Socket Welding and Threaded Ends

This standard practice covers socket welding end and threaded end valves, in sizes 2-1/2 and smaller, and pressure classes 150 to 4500, with provision for interpolated ratings. Valves are to be identified on the basis of body geometry in one of the following categories: a) body configurations comprised of cylindrical porting passages and body neck cavity, and b) body configurations having porting passages and/or body neck cavity of other than cylindrical shape.
This standard practice identifies acceptable materials of construction, and includes design requirements and the method for determining pressure-temperature ratings for each of the categories defined in Subsection 1.1.
Standard Practice was withdrawn May 1996.
